FOTU x STEAMUL8 SIGHT THROUGH SPLINTERS CHARITY PRINT

In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the need for medical assistance has never been more urgent. The recent escalation of violence has left countless individuals in dire need of medical care, supplies, and support. 

"Sight Through Splinters" is a piece by FOTU x STEAMUL8 that embodies the importance of vision and hope in the face of adversity. The print represents the act of seeing light through the shards of hardship, symbolising resilience and the pursuit of clarity amid chaos. It acknowledges the difficulty of witnessing suffering and destruction, yet emphasises the necessity of bearing witness and striving for a better future. Through its intricate design, the print invites viewers to reflect on the strength required to confront harsh realities and the imperative to find and foster hope, even in the darkest times.

A conversation about the perceptions of the ongoing pain and bloodshed in Gaza lead to the creation of Sight through Splinters. It is made from manipulated images inspired by fluorescein angiography, an eye scanning method to visualise the blood vessels of the retina. Different models of insult causes deformations and leakiness of these vessels, leading to a loss of function.

This exclusive print is now available for purchase, with all proceeds directed to Doctors Without Borders (MSF), a humanitarian organisation renowned for delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.
